Welcome to Chalclyffe Holsteins

The Cobb family has been farming at West Chaldon, near Dorchester in Dorset since 1928. The main farm is rented from the Weld estate at Lulworth and with the family owned land now totals 2,500 acres. The business has continually developed over the years, and now the two main enterprises are 1000 acres of combinable crops mostly growing feed wheat and a total of 800 milking Holsteins cows producing quality milk which is sold to Dairy Crest on a liquid contract.

J. F. Cobb & Sons is the founder name of the business which is now in its fourth generation. The family have always loved to farm, with its main priority being to farm profitably and create opportunity for the next generation. Family members currently in the hot seats are Mrs. C. Cobb, and her sons David and Alan, with Nick (David's eldest son) being the fourth generation. Philip, Nick's younger brother has emigrated to America where he is part of the design team at CNH .
